The annual Relay for Life relay -a community event to raise funds and awareness for cancer research was held over the weekend at Duncan McKinnon reserve.
Approx 32 teams participated in this 24hr event from 12pm sat to 12pm sun. I was very happy to be a part of the Glen Eira council team with many staff and crs taking part.
Entertainment and food were provided as teams headed into the night. It was especially moving to see the candles around the track lit in memory of loved ones.
Sundays conditions werent as good but this didn't dampen the enthusiasim of all those involved.
The númber of teams unfortunately was down on previous years. Hopefully many more will participate in this fine event next year.
